Dear Paul, With the completion of our major renovation and the onset of the summer, we never had the chance to properly thank you and your team for a job 'well done. You installed a new kitchen and four new bathrooms in our home. The entire process (proposal, planning, execution, final touches) was done expertly and professionally. Our project manager Linda was responsive and easy to work with. Our criteria for selecting a contractor to build our LBI beach home was simple…  We wanted someone with character, integrity and professionalism.  We searched all of LBI for quality homes and made a list of builders.  This took a while as our standards for construction are very high.  Our architect had us add Paul Maina to the list.  The quality of Paul’s homes was head and shoulders above all of the other homes we inspected.  We interviewed Paul and his character, integrity and professionalism showed through.  We picked Paul and the rest his history.  Our bayfront home speaks for itself.  It is a jewel.  It combines quality and craftsmanship.  The subs were great.  The follow through was prompt.  Any issues were handled smoothly and efficiently.  Communication was never a problem as Paul actually returns all phone calls and he would regularly e-mail us digital photos showing us the progress that was being made.  Changes and adjustments were implemented on a regular basis.  We highly recommend Paul for any quality building project.  Ask him to show you our home and you will see firsthand what we are talking about.

I am extremely happy that we chose Paul Maina as the general contractor for our new LBI home.  We had a fantastic experience!  In fact, I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to build a quality home on a barrier island without someone like Paul. He had great ideas that helped us to make some modifications to the architect’s original plans, and then was great at solving the handful of problems that inevitably present themselves in the field when construction begins.  Given the harsh environment, he made sure that we always chose the appropriate materials.  Paul has tremendous attention to details, and his intellectual curiosity has led him to accumulate a wealth of knowledge on various design and construction topics that proved to be quite useful during our project.     What I particularly like about Paul was the professional manner in which he conducts business and his responsiveness.  He not only responds quickly to phone calls and emails via his Blackberry, but also frequently emails photo updates during construction.  He also used his photo editing skill to actually show us what some of our potential choices could look like, such as the fireplace and mantle design. Paul is quite easy to work with, willing to offer his expert opinion while always leaving the final decision up to us.  As we had never built a house before, we also benefited from Paul’s well developed sense of design style, symmetry and consistency, and color balance.  He truly wanted us to be as happy as possible with the finished product.  For instance, he spent numerous hours locating and then 6 hours driving Bonnie all over LBI in order to show her the shingle, siding, and metal roof options and combinations that she was considering on actual homes.  I doubt many contractors would put in this kind of detailed effort. Finally, we were quite pleased with all of the sub-contractors on our job.  Paul is very neat and meticulous, and his subs also reflected this attitude.  In all, we can’t imagine a better construction experience.

Paul has done work for us over the last year plus and we have enjoyed every minute of it.  The results are amazing.  We bought an older cedar shake home in LBI.  He built an outdoor shower and laundry room among many other projects that made our dream come true.  His attention to detail, enthusiasm and vision is remarkable. Paul is a pleasure to work with and his attention details and time lines are his strength.  I am a builder of upscale commercial buildings and when I can’t handle a fit-out for a customer, his firm is the one I call to give the project to.  I have been in the industry for over 40 years and have seen many people who call themselves “craftsmen”,  I can say Paul Maina is one of very few who can say he really is.

Our project was a combination home/commercial construction that was demolished in a fire.  We were absentee clients (different state) and the entire construction project was delegated to PRM Builders. PRM went beyond our expectations by assuring that all details such as permits, plan changes, schedules, etc. were attended to and executed in a timely manner. Progress reporting was also completed with “up to date” internet based systems allowing us to be informed on a real time basis of conditions and progress. Considering other contractors in the area, I do not know that we could have gotten thru the project without PRM Builders.

When we discovered that we had a leak in our upstairs living room ceiling, we were very upset as you might expect. I contacted Paul and it was smooth sailing from then on. He arranged to meet us at the house in just a few days, inspected the area and suggested several possible causes for the problem and as well as several approaches to solving it. He took pictures of the damaged area both before, during and while the repair work was in progress. He was able to be there, when the insurance adjuster arrived. The work was performed on time and we were updated by Paul on the progress being made. He also uncovered another unrelated problem with our chimney, that could have led to water problems down the road. The best thing about Paul is that he is honest, knows what he is doing, offers several options for repairing the problem and completes the work in a timely fashion.
